Be Well-Suited for Your Date
Dress to Impress - Be Well-Suited for your Date
The right suit can turn an interview into a job, a lunch meeting into a deal, maybe even a date into a long-term relationship...
...But the wrong suit can ruin everything. It's been said that the suit is a symbol of modern manhood; whether a man is 18 or 81, he needs a great suit in his closet. A suit imparts a sense of authority, credibility and class to the wearer. Tom Julian truly believes that it's impossible to go wrong wearing the right suit.
Suiting up to your right look:
- Sew it begins - Before you purchase a suit, turn the jacket and pants inside out to examine the sewing quality and look for fine linings in both pieces.
- Be on a Pocket alert-limit what you carry in your outside pockets to avoid affecting the shape and lining of the jacket.
- Material "worth" matters - High quality fabric is important as ensures against stretched-out elbows and knees and resists pilling, even in the face of the dreaded chafe. The wrong fabric can make you look like you hand washed your suit and hung it in your bathroom to dry - needless to say, not a handsome look.
- Pick a suit style that's a perfect match for you. Wear your suit in a way that is true to your personal style; exude an air of luxury, maintain a true classic look, keep with fashion in a contemporary look, or aim to be on trend. For the luxury look, a bold shirt will give an Italian suit impeccable finish. A classic option is to pair a striped tie with a two-button jacket. To carry off a contemporary look, a small-collared shirt and narrow necktie with a jacket in a high-shine fabric is ideal, and a trend style is best emulated with a broader shoulder, narrow waist, and vintage-looking shoes give you an edge.
